Image to Text (OCR)

Copy text from photos, screenshots and scanned PDFs in English, Chinese and 45+ languages. Runs in your browser — no upload, no sign-up.

Free, Private OCR That Reads English and Chinese Together

Kova Core's Image to Text converter uses PaddleOCR PP-OCRv6, a state-of-the-art open-source OCR model released in June 2026, running entirely inside your browser. Most free OCR websites upload your file to their server and rely on older engines that need you to pick one language; this tool reads English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Malay and dozens of other languages in the same image automatically. It keeps the layout of receipts and tables, turns sideways photos the right way up, highlights any line it is unsure of, and never sends your image anywhere.

How to use

  1. Drop in one or more images or a scanned PDF, paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V, or take a photo on your phone.
  2. Wait a moment while the text is read — the first time, the OCR model downloads once and is then cached.
  3. Check any lines highlighted in amber, edit the text if needed, then copy it or download it as a .txt or Word file.

Common use cases

  • Copying text from a screenshot, meme or photo of a whiteboard or signboard.
  • Turning a photographed receipt or invoice into text you can paste into Excel.
  • Extracting text from a scanned PDF or letter that you cannot select or search.
  • Reading bilingual English and Chinese documents, menus and notices common in Singapore.
